Is Fanfiction Over for Me?
You know - this is a damned good question. I've said that I'm done with fanfiction an awful lot of times, and each time I've been wrong. Even retiring from admining NWP, I said 'that's it for fanfiction' - and I was wrong (as evidenced by Prisoners to the Dark).
I hope that's it for it, though. I like fanfiction - I like writing it, I like reading it. Mostly I like the reviews from it, of course - the constant feedback is fantastic.
So - am I done with fanfic? At the moment, I'd say - yeah. Yeah, I think I am.
Ask me again tomorrow.

So,Inf... ARE you done with fanfic? ;)
Seriously though... I think for all the times you've said you're done, I've asked you that question in different forms 1000 times more. I'm a little surprised you haven't socked me one, yet (just a little). ;)
You've written some amazing fanfic, but if now really *is* when you're well and truly finished with it... well, good luck with the *other* types of writing. I hope we see it sometime. Soon. Really soon.
(Now also works. ;))
Okay, okay. :P But.. really. Whenever you say it's curtains for fanfic, whether or not it actually *is*, eventually, I'm always glad to know that it is indeed fanfic you are talking about, and not writing in general (which would be bad, by the way. ;))... So for now I'll just wish you good luck with the writing in general, whatever it is. Yeah, I think that works. :)

I think we, the readers, take for granted that when we come across a fantastic story, the writer will continue to amuse us at no cost. Fan-fiction does cost: time, skill, energy. Reviews are great, but they aren't quite the same as "OMG my movie script is being made" or "AAAH! My novel is on the shelf". You have to strive, you have to dream, and you can't be held down by one medium/audience. You go girl!
(But feel free to return to your ficcie days when YOU want to :p)
