Long Weekend... Riiiiight
Yeah - it's supposed to be Labour Day weekend here. SUUUURE.
Hell - it even has been. No worries - I certainly have the 'labour' part covered....
*tired*
So this weekend is a long weekend here in Canada (and lots of other places too). Naturally, since everyone is home this weekend, it must be time to renovate something.
The main floor bathroom.
We're doing tile pretty much throughout; the reno involves gutting the room, pulling down the old tile and drywall around the tub, re-doing the plumbing for the vanity and the bathtub to code, putting in new vapour barrier, taping the seams, pulling up the old 1/4 inch extra plywood subfloor, pulling up all of the 1239 (yes, I counted) staples in the floor, putting down cement board (and good gods that stuff is heavy!), filling the cement board seams with thinset, sanding the walls, and THEN... I will be ready to start tiling!
So far, I am at cutting the cement board to fit. All I can say is - cement board is hard to work with, dudes. Now that I have some practice it is easier, but really not fun regardless.
I had assumed it would take about 5 days elapsed to get it all done, assuming that Mr. Inf would keep MinInf busy. He hasn't really been doing that - they left for a whole four hours today! It was a productive four hours, I will admit, but I really could have used about 12.
Pictures to come when I get further along.
