I just came back to re-read, and couldn't believe I hadn't left a comment on mcshep_match already!

This was wonderful and engrossing to read (even for someone who had to stop to look up some of the baseball terms used. Yes, even the simple ones *g*). Everyone seemed completely in character, and I loved all the little shout-outs to canon (Rodney refusing to let his pitch be called the Puddlejumper, bwhahaha). Definitely going into my Keepers folder, thank you so much for sharing!
